Jordan Knight and Dancing for Hope (supporting St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children)

We were thrown for an amazing loop when we received this tweet out of the blue on November 1, 2012.

On January 30, 2013, we traveled to Boston, Massachusetts, USA to meet up with our SuperFan Chieu N. and our randomly chosen fan, Tia S. Both fans flew all of the way from Australia for the once in a lifetime opportunity to meet up with Jordan Knight of New Kids on the Block and present his charity, Dancing for Hope with a donation of €10,000.

Dancing For Hope holds an annual celebration and raises money for the St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children in Dorchester, MA.

The presentation was held during Jordan’s annual visit to the center where we met with the fantastic team that works there and got a tour of the organization. During our visit, we all had the chance to sit in on a radio interview that Jordan held with GRLZ Radio which is operated out of the St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children.

Jordan posed for pictures, talked with us and our two fans and signed some items.

“I am ecstatic to be presented with the opportunity to meet Jordan Knight,” said Saunders, who traveled over 34,500 km roundtrip from Australia. “The BiLLe Celeb Charity Challenge has given me the opportunity to fulfill one of my life ambitions dreams and whilst more importantly making a difference to the wider community and those whom are in need.”

We would like to thank Jordan Knight and Dancing for Hope with the amazing opportunity to join you during your annual visit. Check out our video of the presentation.

Dynamic SuperFan on The BiLLe Celeb Charity Challenge

Have you gone over to nominate a celebrity on The BiLLe Celeb Charity Challenge only to find that they have already been nominated? Have you thought to yourself ‘I should be the SuperFan, I’m the one getting all of the votes for them and doing all of the work’? Well, now is your chance to put your money (or votes) where your mouth is.

Now, when you nominate your favorite celeb and their charity, as the initial SuperFan, you get a lead of 10 points. You will also receive a voting link that is yours alone to share with as many people as you can. Because, in order to remain the SuperFan, you need to work hard to spread the word and get as many voters as possible. Each time someone votes for your celeb, they will also be given a unique code of their own that they can share with their networks.

Each time someone votes using your code, you get a point. Each time someone votes using the code for someone else, that person gets the point. At the end of the month, when the celeb is announced, the SuperFan will be the person who sent the most people to their link to vote for their celebrity.

Get the point?

That’s right, the role of ‘SuperFan’ just got interesting on the Celeb Charity Challenge and at the end of the month, it can be anyone’s game.

To view who is in the running as SuperFan, just hover your cursor over your celeb to prompt the ‘vote’ button to open up. Click on the ‘SuperFan Contenders’ link to the right of that button and the list will open up to view.

Please note that it is your responsibility to make sure your link is being used. Failure to share your link properly or failure of your network to put your link in at the time they vote will not add those votes on to your final total.

This new feature will apply to all fans of all celebs beginning in our May challenge which starts on April 25th.

Happy voting and good luck to all.

Misha Collins and Random Acts in Chicago: October 2012

Misha Collins won The BiLLe Celeb Charity Challenge in September 2012 and we had the chance to travel out to Chicago to meet up with him during a SuperNatural conference.

For those who are unaware, Misha plays in a recurring role as Castiel in the TV series SuperNatural. We traveled out to the convention with Stephanie C., our randomly chosen fan, who joined us to help present a donation in the amount of €25,000 to Misha’s charity, Random Acts.

While we were at the convention, we also had the chance to meet some amazing fans of the show, many of the Random Acts team and (of course) Misha.

It turned out that Misha had some time before he was scheduled to go on stage so he asked if he could meet with us and our fan privately. We went in to a private room and Misha met up with us to say thank you. We had a chat and some laughs, and our fan had the chance to take some pictures and ask a very specific favour of Misha. She had a current tattoo of a small heart on her arm, and she asked Misha if he could draw wings on the heart so she could later have it tattooed on and added in to her final tattoo.

Here are some photos and video of our time with Misha and Random Acts.

We would like to thank Misha Collins, Random Acts and Creation Entertainment for your hard work in getting us out to the SuperNatural Convention in Chicago. We had a great time, as you can see here.

Remember to place your vote for your favorite celeb, or nominate your own at The BiLLe Celeb Charity Challenge.

The BiLLe Head Office in Antigua

When I won The Best Blogger Canada Contest in 2012, one of the top items on my bucket list was to get the chance to travel to Antigua to see where The BiLLe’s Head Offices in Antigua were and to get a feel for the daily operations that go on there.

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to fly to Antigua for one week to take a look at their operations, witness a live draw and meet The BiLLe Lotto’s most recent €1 million winner.

I spent the days working alongside the staff at The BiLLe including the fantastic concierge team and I finally got to spend one of our Skype meetings on the warmer side of the conversation.

Meeting Nancy, who is the recent €1 million winner on The BiLLe was definitely a highlight and I had the chance to spend some time by the ocean and head in to town with them for a little shopping. I attended the check presentation for Nancy at a restaurant on top of a hill with breathtaking views. Watching the presentation and sharing part of Nancy’s time while she was in Antigua was very moving. So often you get to see the final picture of the winner holding the big check, but it is a completely different experience when you experience the story as it unfolds.

On Thursday, Nancy and her cousin Dawn flew back home to Canada and that morning, I had the opportunity to cross another BiLLe Bucket Item off my list when I observed one of the weekly draws taking place.

The BiLLe Lotto has the strictest procedures when it comes to the weekly draw. Their entire procedure from beginning to end is approximately an hour and a half long and involves various witnesses and processes. There is only one camera allowed and cell phones are turned off during the actual draw.

I can tell you that it was fun to watch The BiLLe balls drop in to the machine and one by one, the numbers came out to reveal the winning combination.

I was able to grab some video of my time while I was in Antigua and you can watch the short video I made here.

You can find The BiLLe’s official video of the €1,000,000 presentation at The BiLLe Lotto.

Small-town Canadian Wins Big with The BiLLe Lotto

At its Caribbean home in Antigua, the global online lottery announces Ontario woman as million-Euro ($1.3 M) Winner

ST. JOHNS, ANTIGUA, March 14, 2013 /CNW/ – Nancy Foster is very glad she played The BILLe Lotto (www.TheBiLLe.com), now a million Euros (CDN $1.3 M) richer and fresh from being treated like royalty on a Caribbean getaway courtesy of the Antigua-based lottery.

Ms. Foster won her prize in The BiLLe Feb. 14 draw, and was flown from her hometown of Smiths Falls, Ontario to Antigua to make it official.

“I’ve never won anything before,” said Ms. Foster with tears in her eyes. “I’ve been on disability for years, and was about to lose my house. This is the best thing that’s happened to me, ever.”

Representatives of the lottery greeted Ms. Foster at Antigua’s VC Bird International Airport and whisked her in a stretch limo to Sugar Ridge Resort for a luxurious, all-inclusive stay on the tropical island famous for its 365 white-sand beaches.

“It was incredibly fulfilling to be able to do this for Nancy,” says The BiLLe Lotto’s Managing Director Dave Edwards, a retired police Staff Sergeant and 30-year veteran of Canada’s RCMP, who made the call from Antigua to tell Ms. Foster the news. “And it’s always extra special when it goes to someone who really needs it.”

Currently The BiLLe is active in more than 100 countries, Edwards says, and the primary jackpot value, currently estimated at €103 million (CDN $137M) will continue accumulating until it reaches a billion Euros or is won.

The BiLLe is a 6/49 style lottery played worldwide online at  www.TheBiLLe.com with individual plays for 7 Euros and fractional plays starting at 1 Euro. There are no duplicate number combinations: once plays are sold out, no more are issued for the current week’s draw.

The BiLLe Lotto Ltd. is licensed in Antigua & Barbuda, a jurisdiction white-listed by the UK government and considered among the world’s most stringent gaming regulators. Physical draws are monitored by a third party agency.

Results are announced first on Twitter @TheBiLLe

Happy Birthday from The BiLLe

Today is a big day for me. Forty years ago today, I was born.

It always brings a smile to my face to see that someone has taken the time out today to reach out to me to say Happy Birthday. We all lead busy lives and in any given day, there are always a few priorities that overshadow everything else and seem to consume our attention.

This is why, when someone stops for a minute to send a message on Facebook, Twitter, or an email with warm wishes for a happy day and a great year, it makes me happy.

The team at The BiLLe loves birthdays too. So much so that, when they see it is your birthday, they take the time to give you a call and send their best wishes directly to you. This is a new feature that has been added and it is how my colleagues down in Antigua found out that today was my special day. You see, although I love it when I get the birthday wishes, I am not one to go out soliciting them.

So as I sat here doing my business as usual, wondering if anyone would even know it was my birthday, I got a call from Antigua with a warm birthday wish and I say, thank you for noticing and mentioning it.

So, who shares a birthday with me?

Updates to The BiLLe Celeb Charity Challenge Terms

The BiLLe Celeb Charity Challenge has grown by leaps and bounds since the very first challenge kicked off. Each month as the old challenge ends and a new one begins, we get a lot of great feedback from our community.

This month, we are implementing some changes which will be effective on our next challenge, beginning February 28, 2013. These changes will help The BiLLe Celeb Charity Challenge to continue on its path toward being a fun challenge for everyone.

Due to the overwhelming amount of positive feedback from you, we are now limiting each charity’s win to once per 12 months from the date of the win (regardless of presentation date). With the growing number of charities that are on our site and that continue to be added every day, we share your generous spirit and want to reach as many charities as we can in a year.

As per our new terms, celebrities associated with a charity that has previously been named a winner will be removed. Players are more than welcome to add the celebrity again with a new charity to continue on in the challenge.

We are also updating our guidelines of what constitutes a celebrity to make sure that we are consistent all around. While we would love to have everyone on our list, we needed to refine our standard of ‘celebrity’ to continue to focus on our goal. Our list will be reviewed shortly and anyone not meeting our guidelines will be removed.

We welcome your feedback and thank everyone who has provided their input and helped to be a positive part of our growth. If you have an amazing suggestion of your own, you can help us grow by submitting an email to service@thebille.com. Any changes, if implemented, are normally not put into effect until the until the current challenge ends.

Thank you.

Edited to add: This post referenced above that the Super fan would be notified in the event of celebrity removal and we have found out this did not happen. Notifying the Super fan was not part of our terms and was only listed as a courtesy. We apologize for all inconveniences that this has caused. Going forward we have removed this section from the post.

The BiLLe Takes Customer Service To New Heights With Their Concierge Team

One of my pet peeves is visiting a website with a question and not being able to find any contact information. It is almost as if the website is hiding from it’s public. When I began my year as an ambassador with The BiLLe, I was impressed with their desire to reach out and connect with their online community.

Now, they have taken one more step to making sure that everyone visiting has an amazing experience by offering The BiLLe Concierge Service to everyone who visits The BiLLe Group of websites. The BiLLe is the first website to offer their community this level of support.

So, whether you are playing The BiLLe Lotto or are actively voting for a celebrity/charity on The BiLLe Celeb Charity Challenge, you can have your questions answered and have access to a team of knowledgeable people who are ready to help you make the most of your experience with The BiLLe.

To access the Concierge Team on The BiLLe Lotto website, just click on the ‘Customer Support’ tab on the top pf the page. You have the option of sending an email, placing a phone call (rates apply in some countries) or clicking on the Live Chat button which will open up a chat box where you can type your question and receive help on the spot (during work hours). You can get answers to questions or ask for assistance with your account.

On The BiLLe Celeb Charity Challenge website, you can click on the ‘Contact/Help’ link in the bottom right hand of the page. You have the same contact options as above and our Concierge Team can help you out with anything from assistance with your account to questions about the website.

Setting Up and Navigating Your Profile on The BiLLe

Finding your way around a new site can be a little daunting some times. Before I entered in The BiLLe Best Blogger Canada competition, I took a good look at the website to make sure I understood everything about the company I was competing to work for.

I created an account on TheBiLLe.com and began looking around. To my delight, my dashboard was easy to navigate and everything was well laid out. Now that I am working with the team at The BiLLe, I get to see behind the scenes and I know that simplicity and ease of use is very important to them when discussing changes and updates to their site.

One way to customize your experience while visiting The BiLLe is to fill in your profile. It is really easy to do, but I’ve included a breakdown here in case you have any questions about any of the links within your dashboard.
